Job Purpose


You will join a highly motivated team of actuaries in Financial Condition Management (Valuation) as Assistant Manager with a key focus on embedded value reporting, prophet maintenance and enhancement, producing critical reports and the related in-depth analysis.


The Job


  • Responsible for the preparation of embedded value and performance measurement reports;
  • Responsible for the analysis of surplus to monitor the development of actual profitability, and assist in providing insights on the performance and emerging experience;
  • Provide support in enhancing and modification of the Prophet valuation system, ensuring accuracy and consistency of the results produced, and modifications are well documented. This includes new products modelling and enhancements for upcoming reporting and capital frameworks such as IFRS17 and RBC2;
  • Participate in the annual Business Planning exercise by analysing and forecasting the surplus and NBEV, communicate and coordinate effectively with other stakeholders;
  • Assist in monitoring and reviewing the crediting rate for universal life products in accordance with the internal policy and market competitiveness;
  • Participate in the company's initiatives and projects relating to the financial and capital management of the company, and provide technical support to internal as well as external parties such as regulators and auditors;
  • Guide junior members in the team and review their work to ensure quality and timely completion of core deliverables; and
  • Proactively explore areas for enhancement to raise the standard of current work practice.




Job Requirements

Our Requirements

  • Degree holder in Actuarial Science and with good progress in Actuarial exams;
  • At least 3 years of working experience in actuarial field;
  • Experienced with Prophet management, usage and coding;
  • Familiarity with Singapore RBC regulations is an advantage;
  • Excellent communication and time management skills;
  • Excellent in statistical analysis and problem solving;
  • Self-motivated, analytical, able to multi-task and work independently;
  • Proficient at Actuarial work applications such as Prophet, MS Excel and MS Access;
  • Experience with Stochastic model such as Prophet ALS is preferred; and
  • Proficient at Actuarial reserving and embedded value concepts and reporting.
