The Role:

  • Identifying the IFRS 17 implications specifically for the finance function in the Financial Reporting and Management Reporting systems
  • Engaging and working with the Finance, Actuarial and IT teams to prioritise the development of the business requirements and solutions as they relate to the Finance functions in the Business Unit
  • Propose solutions to implementation and business issues arising from IFRS 17.
  • Ensure implementation of business requirements and solutions are appropriately implemented and tested in the Finance functions.
  • Work in partnership with PMO office to establish local priorities and work streams, co-ordinate and work closely with the functional areas to drive the successful execution of those work steams.
  • Ensure that the newly implemented process and procedures manual are well documented.
  • Requirements Analysis, includes ensuring completeness of Finance Requirements
  • Adhere to project management methodologies

Job Requirements

 The Person:

  • Prior exposure to insurance accounting standards such as IFRS 4 and IFRS 9.
  • Experience in financial/ management reporting
  • Experience with Takaful/ life insurance accounting processes, systems and technology. Priority is given for those with knowledge in Takaful. Knowledge in Life and General Insurance would also be preferable.
  • Strong accounting knowledge and analytic skills.
  • Ability to work in an environment with fluctuating deadlines and multiple professional perspectives.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to communicate project progress both verbally, in written reports and in presentations.
