Job Purpose

 

You will join a highly motivated team of actuaries in Financial Condition Management (Solvency) as Manager with a key focus on solvency testing, participating fund management and experience monitoring of the company.

The Job

 

  • Responsible for solvency management of the company through conducting internal and regulatory solvency testing exercises to produce analysis on the resilience of the company’s financials, identify vulnerability and formulate action plans for risk mitigation. This process also involves communicating the results to the management and regulators and is a crucial part of financial risk management of the company;
  • Assist the Appointed Actuary and the Board in managing the Participating Funds in accordance with the internal Participating Fund Governance Policy and prevailing regulations. Main activities cover asset share investigation, bonus recommendation, collaboration with relevant stakeholders (marketing, investment, operations) to ensure smooth implementation of bonus declaration and updates to policyholders as well as on-going monitoring of bonus supportability;
  • Study and monitor the experience of a portfolio of diverse product suite. This includes producing in-depth analysis on mortality, morbidity, lapses and expenses to provide reference for the setting of best estimate assumptions for reserving, pricing and embedded value reporting, and through the process generating insights to support management decisions;
  • Assist in implementation for future adoption of RBC2. This includes conducting impact analysis study, communicating and coordinating effectively with other stakeholders;
  • Collaborate with other functions to provide actuarial expertise in different projects including analysis of the liability profile for the purpose of strategic asset allocation, capital contingency plan, expense allocation, etc.;
  • Guide junior members in the team and review their work to ensure quality and timely completion of core deliverables. Proactively explore areas for enhancement to raise the standard of current work practice; and
  • Assist in other initiatives and projects relating to the financial and capital management of the company.

                       

 

Job Requirements

Our Requirements

  • Degree holder in Actuarial Science and with good progress in Actuarial exams;
  • 4 to 6 years of actuarial work experience primarily focusing on stress testing and participating fund bonus investigation;
  • Familiarity with Singapore RBC regulations;
  • Analytical, solution-oriented and ability to multi-task;
  • Able to communicate clearly and develop well thought-out recommendations; and
  • Proficient at Actuarial work applications such as Prophet, MS Excel, MS Access and knowledge in Macro programming is an advantage.
