Job Purpose

IT program manager with strong technical background to drive, manage and deliver Group IT projects and initiatives. You will lead multiple project teams to develop platforms related to big data / data lake, analytics and related AI applications. You will drive the organization’s strategy in big data usage so as to grow the use of advanced analytics and AI capabilities in GE.

The Job

• Focus on a bird’s eye view of everything within this portfolio
• Lead and manage multiple IT teams involving big data platform (Hadoop), data analytics solutions (e.g. SAS Viya, etc), data visualisation tools (e.g. ClickSense), ETL/ELT tools, Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions, etc
• Work with team of application teams, infrastructure team, vendors, Data Scientists to conduct Proof of Concepts (POCs), jointly evaluate and implement various data analytics and AI related solutions.
• Lead teams to facilitate techno-functional design & implementation
• Engage multiple stakeholders to align projects delivery to strategic business objectives
• Engage multiple stakeholders for demand planning and project prioritisation
• Manage cross-projects / cross-team / cross-portfolio activities, dependencies and trade-offs
• Plan, mobilize and manage resources optimally to execute against plan(s)
• Handle contract management, project budget, project schedules and track progress of concurrent projects across the region, to bring projects to their successful completion.
• Ensure alignment of application roadmap with overall IT architecture and strategy
• Establish and governance best practices in the respective teams and domains
• Align projects deliveries and IT solutions with IT Enterprise Architecture, i.e. ensure synergies in IT projects and systems delivered
• Ensure compliance to both Group IT and Corporate principles and policies,
• Drive change and adoption for continuous improvement to optimise delivery processes
• Train, coach and mentor Project Managers and/or Team Leads

Job Requirements


Our Requirements

• Relevant degree level qualification or equivalent
• Minimum of 15 years of technical experience in both IT software development projects and operational IT operations system support roles
• Minimum 5 years working experience managing a complex project involving multiple teams
• Strong technical and business acumen with the ability to lead teams with multiple discipline representation
• Experience in architecture design, implementing and managing an operational big data platform and/or enterprise data warehouse is required
• Experience in managing and optimisation of operational ETL, ELT jobs, schedules and dependencies across multiple data sources is required
• Knowledge of big data platforms and tools is required E.g. Hortonworks, Hive, Spark, Sqoop, etc
• Knowledge of technology, tools and process related to data governance, master data management and data lineage is required
• Knowledge of complex event processing, machine learning, computer vision, deep learning, supervised or unsupervised skills, Python, OpenCV, tensorflow, dockers container management is desired
• Experience in use of project management and collaboration tools is required (E.g. Microsoft Project, Confluence, Jira Software, Kanban Boards, etc.)
• Worked in a large-scale enterprise environment involving hybrid architectures with complex and heterogeneous systems integration
• Worked with Agile and waterfall delivery methodologies
• Understanding of TOGAF or other formal architecture frameworks is desired
• Working experience in a financial services industry and/or operating under strict regulatory constraints is an advantage
• Knowledge of emerging technologies/platforms in Mobility, Analytics, Cloud and Social with a strong self-initiative to keep up with Digital trends
• Problem solver with ability to see things in multiple angles, constantly challenge the norm and constantly looking for better solutions to problems
• Strong presenter being able to articulate differentiated value to a wide range of audiences from senior management to technical teams
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Independent team member being able to make judgements calls in a fast changing environment with limited or ambiguous information
