Job Purpose

This role requires a proactive individual that is task focussed, able to identify actions required and clearly communicate these actions to the cross skilled team. Flexibility and understanding of the complex relationships within a diverse organisation are critical to ensure that RTB activities are completed to a high standard. Being able to respond to feedback from both customers and staff is essential to this post holder. They must be able to see the big picture of the RTB objectives, whilst at the same time ensure the detail is not missed.

The Job

• Lead all aspects of complex business-as-usual (BAU) work delivering efficient and effective solutions to incidents, changes and problems raised
• Manage Incident, Problem and Change to ensure these processes are completed within the agreed SLA to maximise customers’ satisfaction in the service.
• Work to reduce the risk of service failure.
• Ensure all work undertaken is delivered in accordance with IT's priorities and in line with the strategy and Technical Roadmap.
• Allocate resources to ensure maintenance activities are completed in a timely manner
• Liaising with system suppliers on all aspect of hardware and software, policies and procedures which include coordinating with them, as required, ensuring the smooth running of IT service.
• Work with the Business Support Team to ensure the contracts for product licensing is adequately covered and maintained.
• Own and contribute to the information management of key performance indicators for the IT service area, taking a technical lead for specific IT projects.
• Provide team leadership, covering training and development needs, appraisals and performance management.

Job Requirements

Our Requirements


  • A Bachelor’s degree or Professional Degree in Computer Science / IT or equivalent
  • At least 8 years relevant experience managing and monitoring BAU services and issues from applications, infrastructure and security
  • Experience working with multiple project teams (business, IT application and infrastructure teams).
  • Excellent system, application and network troubleshooting skills using various toolsets.
  • Understanding of various software development lifecycle.
  • Ability to understand business processes and financial functions a plus
  • Excellent communicator with strong influencing skill set and able to manage conflicts
  • Team player who can lead in brainstorm session with peers to problem solve and make decisions
  • Self-driven with a positive attitude to champion for culture change management initiatives within IT and with interfacing Business stakeholders
  • Strong initiative and leadership
  • Ability to motivate and enthuse mixed teams to ensure Service delivery and maximise the customer’s experience.
  • Planning and organisational skills for undertaking team leadership and BAU workload management.
  • Analytical skills and a creative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to apply risk management techniques to ICT service management
